چکیده

Background: Wide spectrum of clinical manifestation and severity COVID-19 led to further studies find a simple biomarker used predict the COVID-19. We investigated role mean platelet volume (MPV) distribution width (PDW), widely available parameters, as predictor severity. Methods: conducted single center analytic observational study evaluate relationship between MPV PDW values severities. A total 123 subjects within October December 2020 included in analysis. Results: Analysis showed statistically significant difference MPV, PDW, D-dimer severities (p<0.001, p=0.002, p<0.001). Correlation coefficient with were 0.28 (p=0.002); 0.22 (p<0.001), 0.81 but there’s no correlation (p=0.176) (p=0.383) D-dimer. The AUC value ROC curve predicting was 79% (p=0.001, 95% CI: 0.696-0.885), 72.5% 0.598-0.852), 97% 0.937-1.00).Conclusions: This found on There’s concentration.

No associations exist between mean platelet volume or platelet distribution width and thyroid function in Chinese

Mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) are morphometric indices of size distribution and variability of platelet. We aimed to explore the associations between MPV or PDW and thyroid function in a large Chinese cohort. This was a cross-sectional study with a recruitment of 13,622 self-reported healthy Chinese (8424 males, 5198 females). Clinical data of the participants ...

Prominent features of platelet count, plateletcrit, mean platelet volume and platelet distribution width in pulmonary tuberculosis

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND We aimed to investigate the relation of platelet count (PLT) and plateletcrit (PCT), mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) with other acute phase reactants and radiological extent in pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). METHODS One hundred patients with PTB (Group 1), 50 patients with community-acquired pneumonia (Group 2) and 28 healthy control in...

In response to: Relation of mean platelet volume and red blood distribution width with epistaxis.

We would like to thank Dr. Xia Feng, Dr. Libing Jiang, and their friends for their insightful and valuable comments on our article. First of all, there was no parameter such as red cell distribution width (RDW)/mean platelet volume (MPV) in our study. We discussed RDW and MPV as independent parameters. We were aware that anemia, renal dysfunction, hepatic dysfunction, thyroid disease, transfusi...

In reference to Relation of mean platelet volume and red blood cell distribution width with epistaxis.

We applaud the work by Kemal et al., in their well-presented article. The authors found lower mean platelet volume (MPV) and red blood cell distribution (RDW) levels in epistaxis. It is worth noting that any process resulting in the release of immature erythrocyte/platelet or increased destruction of red blood cell/platelet will change the levels of RDW/MPV. Moreover, it has been reported that ...

Mean platelet volume, platelet distribution width and carcinoembryonic antigen to discriminate gastric cancer from gastric ulcer

Activated platelets are involved in cancer development and progression. Mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) are early indexes of platelet activation. The objectives of this study were to investigate the ability of MPV, PDW and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) individually or in combination, to distinguish between gastric cancer and gastric ulcer. The study involved 19...
